To Ben Brooks, novelist.

This is a letter I decided to write to express my appreciation, but I could not find a way to actually send it to him. Maybe he'll find it somehow and know how much his work is appreciated.

«Dear Ben Brooks,
I am a recently-eighteen year old lady who is a big fan of your book Grow Up. My only purpose with this letter is to thank you for writing. I have read it twice, first because Carrie Fletcher recommended it, and after I read another book I just felt the need to read it again, and I plan to read it many times more.
It has become my favorite book yet, and I believe it will definitely stay on the top three for as long as I live. I plan to read other books you've written in the hopes of sort of knowing you a little bit better.
I do not want to know what happens after the book ends. I do not want to know you in person. I think that would ruin the magic of it all. I really just want to thank you for introducing me to the world of reading because it was the first book in english I enjoyed and felt the need, the desire to read again right after I finished it.

With all my appreciation,
Rita Carvalho.»
